The show will go on! Puerto Rico Comic Con defies all challenges and confirms its 2018 show is a go

Tickets on sale now, with more accessible and flexible pricing

San Juan, Puerto Rico – Defying the challenges brought on by the passing of Hurricane Maria last month, the production team behind Puerto Rico Comic Con confirmed that the 2018 show will go on as planned. Also, the ticket pricing schedule – available now at TicketPop.com – has been adjusted to better address new consumer realities.

For Ricardo Carrion, executive producer of Puerto Rico Comic Con, “There is no adversity tough enough to quell the Puerto Rican spirit of overcoming obstacles. All of us have been impacted by the storm, no doubt; but we all have the responsibility to get back up and continue forward. Now, more than ever, entertainment is needed to help accelerate the normalization process in our lives. As the saying goes, The show must go on.”

Carrion acknowledges that the entertainment industry has been one of sectors most affected by the storm, but he is confident that fans, especially Geekricans (super fans of the event) are eager to enjoy this type of event once again as a means to leave behind, even for a little while, what has become the new rhythm of life.

In light of the new reality many Puerto Ricans are living, Carrion noted that the ticket pricing structure has been adjusted to be more accessible and flexible. To that end, the MultiPass® ticket price has been reduced to $75 and includes access to the three days of the show, exclusive and early entry, commemorative bag and badge/lanyard, and other benefits. Unlike previous editions of the show, this VIP ticket for the 2018 show does not include artist autograph. The fan may choose to purchase an autograph voucher separately.

Also, the cost of the 1DayPass® remains the same for each day of the event: $18. The prices herein stated do not include taxes and service chargers. “This adjustment is the right thing to do for our fans,” said the producer.

He also made clear that, because the show is an important event for independent artists, Puerto Rico Comic Con has a responsibility to continue being a forum through which the market supports Puerto Rican content creators, including illustrators, writers, storytellers and others.

The list of the special guests that will take part in Puerto Rico Comic Con will be revealed soon, as well as the event program for workshops, Q&A sessions, and special presentations. The 2018 Puerto Rico Comic Con will take place on May 18, 19 and 20 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan.

For over 15 years, Puerto Rico Comic Con has stood out as the main and most important entertainment event in the region. Thousands of fans of all ages show up in their favorite cosplay to enjoy the best of the entertainment world, including cinema, television, comics, independent art, videogames, anime, collectibles and memorabilia, and all things pop culture.
